Administrative Assistant / Receptionist

An exciting opportunity exists to become a member of a team administering a reformed mercury contamination compensatory process, available to all eligible Wabaseemoong Independent Nations and Grassy Narrows First Nation members.

The Administrative Assistant will provide assistance and support services to the MDB Chair, Operations Director and the Board itself.

Key Deliverables

  • First point of contact for all enquiries to the MDB
  • Organization of meetings and minute taking/preparation
  • Updating website and social media platforms
  • General admin support and for special projects
  • Lead on community outreach/communications and drafting reports/newsletters
  • Lead on coordinating orientation and training for new Board members and medical professionals
  • Assisting with medical assessment clinics and providing logistical support as required

Qualifications & Skills

  • Combination of education & experience that makes for a stellar fit for the position
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, strong time-management and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft programs, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively is a must
  • A passion for providing administrative support, communications and working with Indigenous communities
  • Knowledge specific to the MDB to a distinct asset

Terms

A full-time three-year contract position under an independent contractor arrangement.

You must have your own home office/remote workspace, with the flexibility of in-office as well and have reliable transportation.
